PLASMA FACELIFT

Plasma facelift is an innovative procedure for facial and body rejuvenation made by local administration of patient’s own platelet-rich plasma using the PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) technology. This technology is a modification of a long-known in medicine autohemotherapy method, which is widely used in the treatment of fractures, wound healing and in dermatology. The method was successfully used in leading hospitals in Europe, the US and Russia.

Due to age-related changes cell metabolism slows down and that contributes to the gradual skin aging. To stop the aging process, the mechanisms of cell renewal must be restarted. The human blood (plasma) contains all the elements necessary for normal functioning of the cells and the whole organism. The platelets have molecules that provide tissue repair when it is damaged and cell activity is decreased.

After administration to the patient of own platelet-rich plasma, connective tissue cells (fibroblasts) located in deep dermis begin to synthesize collagen and elastin, which are responsible for smoothness and skin elasticity. Thus, the procedure is based on the mechanism of activation of one’s own connective tissue cells by own plasma.

Before the plasma facelift procedure small amount of venous blood sample (20 ml) is taken under sterile conditions. The acquired blood is processed by a special technique to obtain a platelet concentrate which is inserted into the skin with the help of insulin thin needles. The procedure takes about 30 minutes.

The PRP procedure is also indicated for treatment of hair loss (alopecia). In the course of plasma concentrate introducing into the scalp, the nutrition of hair follicles is improved and blood circulation in this area is activated. Growth factors introduced into the center of baldness, help to «awaken» the dormant hair follicles. As a result, hair loss slows down on the third or fourth day after the first treatment. Depending on the clinical picture, the hair loss treatment requires 4 to 10 procedures with an interval of 7-10 days.

Plasma facelift is perfectly combined with fractional laser resurfacing; this complex procedure is called laser plasma facelift. The combination of these two methods enhances the effect of rejuvenation and increases the duration of its validity.

The changes are already noticeable after the first treatment but for receiving the effect of white smooth skin it is recommended to take 2-3 treatments at intervals of one month.

The result of a laser plasma facelift procedure is that the skin is naturally rejuvenated, it becomes firmer, fine lines and wrinkles are eliminated and skin moisture is normalized. This result may be maintained for 1-1.5 years, depending on skin condition, the patient’s age and other individual factors. Laser plasma facelift is successfully combined with other methods of injection treatment — mesotherapy and biorevitalization, and it provides comprehensive recovery of the problem skin.
