Stretch marks is a problem to many men and women that occurs in the abdomen, thighs and buttocks. Generally, stretch marks appear after a sudden change in weight during the pregnancy, during the period of active growth in adolescents. In these cases high skin tension causes rupture of collagen and elastin fibers of the dermis, leading to a thinning of the skin. Also stretching may occur in some endocrine diseases associated with increased secretion of the hormone cortisol or chronic receiving of drugs containing steroids.

Removal of stretch marks with a laser is the only effective treatment, the result is noticeable after the first session.

At the LaserOne Clinic stretch marks removal is performed using CO2 laser SmartXide DOT (DEKA, Italy). Its action is based on the principle of selective photothermolysis. Unlike traditional laser resurfacing, which removes the entire layer of the epidermis and requires a long recovery period, fractional CO2 lasers act selectively. A special nozzle divides a laser beam into many smaller beams, each of them creates a tiny depression in the skin. By keeping skin around the traumatized areas intact, healing is faster, new collagen and elastin are formed, which leads to the restoration of normal skin structure.

Laser method of stretch mark removal is a comfortable, painless and most effective treatment to date. If you wish, stretch marks can be removed under local anesthesia (anesthetic cream is applied).

The course of treatment depends on the size and severity of stretch marks, on average it is 4-6 sessions with an interval of a month. After the laser exposure redness and slight swelling may occur on the treated area of the skin and will disappear within 2-3 days.
