Age-related changes in the face first appear in the area of eyes and neck. Therefore, eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty, is the most popular plastic surgery in the facial area. It is used in case of “baggy eyes”, large and small wrinkles on the eyelids and to remove the effect of «sagging» eyelids.

Bags under the eyes can be removed using either traditional method (using a scalpel) or with innovative laser technologies. At our clinic we use both methods. During a free consultation the plastic surgeon will determine the most appropriate way to solve the aesthetic problem in each case.

The operation of eye bags removing is performed on the upper eyelids (upper blepharoplasty) and lower eyelids (lower blepharoplasty). All-round blepharoplasty is performed in case of having fat deposits or sagging skin on both eyelids. The surgery involves the removal of excess fat, sagging skin excision and imposing special microsurgical sutures. After the end of the rehabilitation period, the cuts are virtually invisible; skin of the eyelids restores its normal elasticity.

Laser blepharoplasty is an effective and minimally invasive procedure in which tissue dissection and removal of fat deposits is made with meticulous precision. The procedure may be performed at any age.

The LaserOne Clinic uses SmartXide DOT CO2-laser (DEKA, Italy) for laser blepharoplasty. A feature of this medical equipment is that the laser beam cuts the thinnest tissue at the same time «welding» small blood vessels. As a result operation goes almost without bloodshed and the chance of post-operative swelling and bruising is significantly reduced. Therefore laser blepharoplasty can be used in cases where the patient is interested in a short period of rehabilitation.
